Much Ado about Something

I watched this last night, having recorded it on Monday and it was just fabulous. Really fabulous. I'm not precious about modern day adaptations but they often fall a bit flat as they tend to use the original language or stick too closely to the story which doesn't translate in contemporary times, but this one was just a lovely loose adaptation and worked really really well. Sarah Parish and Damian Lewis were especially great. If only it were so easy to have someone fall in love with you and to fall in love with someone by over-hearing a few choice words....

Speaking of fabulous, I have two words for you: Bleak House. I'm actually rather glad I haven't read the book, it makes it a genuine episodic what.will.happen.next drama series. Thoroughly enjoyable.

If we're talking about television then I will confess to be very excited about the new series of Doc Martin starting tonight and lastly the last episode of Spooks. It continues to be a fantastic series and I'm looking forward very much to their take on the Diana Conspiracy Theory in tonight's episode.

What's that? A life? Ah yes, thanks. Will pick it up again soon.
