It's like thunder
I discovered this phrase the other day: coup de froude. I read it in a book I'm reading at the moment. It happened to me once. Whilst I quite like the sensation, it does rather knock one for six.
Comments:
Well the context in which I read it was Love at First Sight (important use of capitals...) It's especially where there is a physical reaction; whenever you see them your heart races, stomach flip flops and you become quite incapable of coherent speech.
Bizarrely I'm sure no one would know when it happened to me, the latter being a fairly normal occurence.
