A Pair of Queens
You can tell I'm getting busy at work. I'm distracting myself from it by blogging willy nilly. Which of course begs the question who's Willy Nilly.
I can't believe I haven't written about Mary Stuart yet.
I can't believe I haven't written about Mary Stuart yet.
Last Thursday week, in our cunning and past life disguises of Elizabeth 1 and Sir Walter Raleigh, Jef and I ventured to the Donmar, led to the theatre by a procession of dancing fools and courtly jesters, we sat discreetly in the circle so as not to distract the actors on stage. And how wonderful they were. It's a fantastic and fascinating story anyway but was made even more special by the fictionalised account of the two Queens meeting. Something that never happened. Cleverly staged (they made it rain on stage!), smart costuming and divine acting from all but especially the leads.
Who's Queen?
