Today's birthday
My nephew is 18 today.
I was going to say it seemed like only yesterday I was whizzing my sister off on two false alarm trips to the hospital before finally arriving at the big event but actually it's a lifetime ago. A different country, a different time and place, and a different me I think.
I rang him to wish him Happy Birthday and we spent most of it discussing the merits of Michael Moore's literary and cinematic output but I suspect that's because he's a serious/life is difficult/you don't understand me teenager and I'm just a show off aunt displaying inflated and erroneous literary knowledge.
It was win-win.
