I'm a Lady

It's 1904 and the Central line is making it's way from Shepherds Bush to town, two ladies sit demurely on the upholstered seats and maintain a genteel discourse of the day's activities. The train arrives at stations letting on more passengers and the carriage begins to fill. Suddenly there is an odour. A foul one.

Miss Alison says to Miss Adriana "What do you think it is?"
Miss Adriana replies "It smells, um, rather earthy".

The odour is attached a man who has boarded the carriage and has stood in the alcove next to these two young ladies. Emergency measures must be taken. Fortunately, as they are ladies, they reach into their handbags and retrieve hankerchiefs onto which Miss Alison sprays discreetly a small odour repellant fragrance. And thus their journey to town is returned to the more pleasant aroma as they gently hold their hankerchiefs to their noses to allieviate the dreadful odour.
