Irrespective of whether I think he should, or shouldn't, the whole thing has been a farce. Whose bright idea was it to even imply he wouldn't hang around in the first place. Did they really think the public and media would sit quietly and wait for the announcement? This statement won't put it to bed. Should have said a definitive date then gone a month earlier.
