It's a Royal Adventure
You wait years for a good dramatisation of Elizabeth 1's life and two come along at once.
The Channel 4 version. Helen Mirren no less, I'm expecting romping and possible bare breasts* and the BBC version, I'm expecting historical accuracy and ruffs.
If you do want to see a great docudrama - I use the word with caution - see David Starkey's superb Elizabeth 1 series.
If you want to see me flailing about like a headless monarch**, come to Hatfield House Country Show on Saturday. That's where I'll be, treading in the footsteps of Elizabeth and buying jam.
