Post Shamelessly Ripped off from the Evening Daily Mail
My London
Where do you live and why?
E2. Because it's where I could afford it. And because I love it.
How long have you lived there?
Nearly 4 whole months.
Where did you last go on holiday?
Australia. Previous to that New York and Washington for a few days last November.
Who’s in your secret address book?
That would be telling.
Harvey Nicks or Selfridges?
Selfridges. Because I've actually bought stuff in there, whereas in Harvey Nicks I've only ever gone up to the food hall and bought tea. And a cherry ripe, oddly.
What do you miss most when you’re out of London?
Everything.
What are your extravagances?
At the moment shoes. Usually books and CDs.
How do you get around town?
Tube and bus. Occasional black cab. And by foot.
Do you have a favourite pub? What’s so special about it?
The Enterprise in Chalk Farm because I've spent a few pleasant afternoons downing the Guinness.
The George & Dragon in Shoreditch because it's my nearest and plays fabulous music.
Rob Roy in Paddington because it used to be my local and oh the tales I could tell.
What are your current projects?
Decorating the flat. Badly.
What was the last play you saw in London?
Calico. It was very good.
What would you do if you were Mayor for the day?
I have thought about this for an hour now and have no idea. I could be philanthropic and make the tubes free or make some kind of health care provision but in reality I'd probably just try and get access into buildings and places you couldn't do if you were a lay person.
What items are in your summer wardrobe? Where did you get them?
A lot of stuff I bought in the sales in Australia.
What are your favourite home comforts?
Since moving I've always had fresh cut flowers in the flat and fully stocked liquor cabinet.
What was the last CD you bought?
The Libertines.
What advice would you give to a tourist?
Get off the tube and buses (especially in peak hour) and see the city on foot.
What were the last books you bought?
Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre. I haven't read it yet.
What have been your most memorable London meals?
I once had a lovely birthday at Putney Bridge Restaurant.
What perfume do you wear?
Dior Addict is the latest favourite.
