Singapore Sling

I promised Jo I'd have one on the plane and at some point flying over India I did, along with a very classy bag of crisps. I have to say it didn't hold a candle to the Bloody Marys I had earlier in the flight.

You can tell, therefore, that as I am writing this, the plane didn't fall spectaularly from the sky nor fail to take off. I have to say I did get a bit over excited when I first boarded, you'd have thought I'd never flown before. It was very nice, very new and rather spacious. One still sat in economy, but the seats were definitely bigger and if you were lucky enough to have a window seat like me there was this really clever storage compartment next to you and the window, which meant more space to try and jam your legs under the seat in front.

Service was as hoped, very attentive. I don't ever recall BA or Qantas traipsing up and down the aisles offering drinks and snacks on a regular basis throughout the flight, least not in economy.

It felt bigger, because clearly it WAS bigger but because Economy was split in two between the upper decks and lower decks, you had more space to mill about and still not feel you were squashed in.

I fear I failed in my mission to get a look at the first class Suites. I did walk up to the entrance but that was as far as I was ever going to get. You don't even walk past when you board. Business Class looks fantastic and we were allowed to see what we were missing up there.

Saw four films (seriously it's a long flight), I am Legend, The Savages, Lions for Lambs and Bee Movie, plus the pilot of Pushing Daisies, an episode of The Flight of the Conchords (I am over the main bloke after having seen him do the same character - which irritated the fuck out of me at the time - in Eagle V Shark) and then lastly an episode of Summer Heights High which was quite entertaining.

I forgot to pack my DVT socks *watches closely for symptons* and my inflatable neck pillow. *realises is probably acting age way too closely*

Time to chuff off to gate A19 for the last leg. One day, as God is my witness, I'll do this business, or failing that, the flight times will get shorter or my name isn't Scarlett O'Hara.
