In the beginning

It's so hard to resist posting a weather related blog. It would go something like this: heatwave, humidity, blah, thunder, rain, lightning, blah, more humidity and more rain etc. Don't get me wrong, I like the weather. It's what brought me here. I'm just over the humidity. My hair cannot take any more of this.

Still the weather has thrown up some odd moments. The most unseasonal experience was standing in a pub last night with my teeth actually chattering. I stood there shaking and thinking it's June. It was followed by the most filmic moment. Scurrying up Charing Cross Road last night after having seen Batman Begins and having had a swift dww with the girls and thinking it really was quite warm... and still... when suddenly a crack of lightning coursed across the sky. Then some thunder and back to the lightning, both of them so real it was like cgi*. The light on the streets was like a film set. It had an unusual quality with a clear but slightly bue hue to everything. The CGI effects kicked in with more thunder and lightning and so forth. The crowd scattered with every thunder roll and lightning burst and I, lost in the moment, kept looking around waiting for Batman to appear. He never did.

He was probably too busy practising his Batman voice.
